About
“In the beginning of time, I was handed a pair of quirky colorful shoes. These odd shoes have taken me around the world, often aside the beaten track where it’s less crowded and silence occasionally sings. They point me in directions where I notice details others often seem to miss, or maybe just don’t care about. I can sense stories, hidden patterns and above all, I can see color, line and form.”
Sylvia Sinel emigrated to New Zealand from Sweden 2013 and settled in Hamilton on the North Island. Sylvia's interdiciplinary Art practice spans over 30 years and her work can be found in many private collections world wide. Over the years she has worked with a variety of mediums and techniques, like painting, sculpture, writing, performance and anything i between.
Sylvia is very much involved in the local Art Aommunity in, and regularly teaches classes and workshops in various organisations. She was part of the start up team at Gallery 9 onbraid 2022 and is also part of the team at The Sculpture Park at Waitakaruru Arboretum.

A Devotion to Form
Here is a small selection of work I have made over the past ten years whilst living in New Zealand.
